We have many interesting application stories today. Following the unusual applications in the Big Brother TV series, and on a Second World War U-boat docked in Liverpool, the Bosch MIC Series 400 PTZ cameras, also known as  ”Metal Mickey” cameras, are going to sea.  The Royal National Lifeboat Institution, which has already been using them on some life-boats, plans to implement them on its 330-boat strong fleet.

In Canada, Avigilon was the real winner at the winter Olympics, when the city of Vancouver deployed the Avigilon HD Surveillance System to provide situational awareness to city emergency management staff and the police department.
Further south, HSBC’s Mexico City branches are using over 3,000 dynamic range cameras from Rainbow CCTV, which are customised to suit the lighting conditions of the glass-clad buildings. Read more news…
