Now for some corporate updates: Legic has announced a partnership with SBD companies to increase their North American presence and ONSSI software now supports both PSIA and ONVIF standards.

Today Honeywell has introduced a completely wireless intruder alarm system designed to fit the changing needs of businesses.  VIVOTEK USA finished the year on a high note with their successful participation at the CCTV Imports’ Holiday Tradeshow and party in New Orleans.  And more about the upcoming INTERSEC 2010: SALTO Systems will be showcasing several new access control products at this big event.

To start the second week of 2010 we offer you a  little bit of news to make your return to work a little more informed.

At the top of the pile IMS Research reveals that the global transition to IP video surveillance is on the up with a predictions os a 3% increase in  as it  the global video surveillance market. In a bid to offer their partners an opportunity to showcase their products Vivotek is to host its first IP video Solutions Awards.

To end our news offering we have two very charitable news updates: Xtralis has recently announced that it will be donating its ADPRO remote video surveillance and perimeter protections solution to the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS) to support the service in its mission to provide free marine rescue. Lastly, for the first time at ISC West security professional will be taking part in a 5K charity run to help sponsor 500 children in need.

We have reached the end of the first full week of the new year. Before the weekend begins, we bring you news of some big events…

Madrid Metro recently celebrated the 90th anniversary of its deployment of VESDA by Xtralis. Coming later this month is Intersec Dubai 2010 at which Tyco International and QNAP will be unveiling their latest security solutions. Optex Europe will also be exhibiting its award-winning laser scan detector technology. In preparation for another upcoming event, Integrated Systems Events announced the positioning of a digital signage showcase at ISE 2010.

You’ll be hearing more about these and other events to come as the dates draw nearer. For now, enjoy your weekends and see you next week!

And the snow keeps coming down. Hope everyone’s been staying warm. The theme of new beginnings for the new year continues with HID Global’s extension of its iCLASS readers which can now be used by Dutch government agencies.
